Hi Guys, Like I said in my previous blog I'm doing some of the extra credit blogs today.  This blog is about Growth Mindset, I haven't done one of these blogs on this topic since the 1st week so its nice to recap every once and a while 😀 Reading the different links and thinking about it to myself, since school I was so focused on my leaving cert and getting into college I forgot about how I actually felt, how I was going to deal with this huge change in my life starting college, in September 2015 going into college was the scariest thing to face on my own, I was young and not very mature and I didn't have the right mindset to do something I have never done before and unfortunately I think that's why I ended up dropping out of that course.  Over the years from working full time I was also so focused on doing my job that once again I forgot about the impact is was having on my mind so when I began this course trying to juggle a job and college was so har...

Learning About Mindset Growth

When I think about mindset I think about relaxing, I have never heard of Carol Dweck until today. What I learnt from listening and reading to what she has to say I have realized that sometimes I run away from error and I don't like to be told I'm wrong especially if it is in a subject that I don't practically like. She has thought me that I should better myself and try again when ever I fail at something. When Carol talks about "how we are raising our children" I do think parents except more from their children, personally because I have dyslexia my mum always says "all I want you to do, is do your best" and that is exactly what I have done but thinking back to when I done the leaving cert a lot of my friend's parents excepted them to come out with A's which puts pressure on their children which isn't fair. Of course students want the best grades but to have added pressure from their parents is very unfair. My biggest problem when setting...
