Time Strategies for this semester.

As I have Monday's off this semester I have decided to do two hours of Multimedia work during that day. I looked at my timetable and I have a lot of breaks during the day while at college so to fill up them hours I will be doing one hour on a Tuesday afternoon and another hour on Wednesday. I find for me doing college work over the weekend defeats the purpose of a weekend. I know with assignments due and long days at college sometimes I will have to do work on Saturday and Sunday but for now I will work hard during the week and spend my weekends relaxing.

As I have the semester calendar bookmarked to my phone it has synced to the calendar on my phone. This will help me and remind me what I have to do within the coming week and what has to be submitted. If I have time left over or I worked faster one day I will work ahead. The one thing I have promised myself this year is that I will start all my work straight away and not leave it to the last minute like last year! It just saves the stress (trust me)😅😅

The first article I read was "The Importance Habit of Just Starting". Like I have said in a previous blog my big challenge is starting something. Once I get started I don't understand why I put it off for so long. By reading this article it made me realize I do not want to die and not to have fulfilled my dreams and the only way to change that is by starting something as soon as you get it. I know I lack in motivation sometimes but as Dr. Steel’s has said "our day-to-day lives is like trying to diet in a candy store and then being blamed for getting fat" and hes dead right! If you want to do something do it now before you do not feel like doing it anymore. https://lifehacker.com/the-important-habit-of-just-starting-1771016698

The second article I read was "The Myth of "Too Busy". I am always saying "oh i'm so busy" but what does that mean? Does that mean you are run off your feet? Does it mean you have no time what so ever? Or do we just say we are "so busy" when actually we haven't done a thing? By reading this article it has made me notice that I am always busy. I like how the author of this article has suggested we used different words than busy.

As I've been writing these last couple of blog posts I have realized that I haven't gone near my phone to check social media. Maybe that is taking up so much of my time, maybe I need to restrict myself to focus on my college work more. I know my timetable will change over the next couple of weeks but I hope that this motivation stays with me throughout the year to get assignments done as soon as they are given to me.

  1. Hey Elizabeth!
Love your blog ha ha love the memes. Found some of this information useful. I love the quote, "The Importance Habit of Just Starting" I think this a very important tool and its what helped me overcome procrastination. Also, "The Myth of Being Too Busy", I can really relate to this article. It is so easy to make the excuse of being too busy and I like how honest you are with how you try to overcome this.

Introduction to me being me!

I never know how to write about myself. I always feel so embarrassed and I don't know why😅 Like last year when Margret asked us to do a video about ourselves, I wanted to cry as I never know what to say about myself without sounding big headed! So here comes the cringe fest.... My name is Elizabeth, I am 23 years old and I was born and bred in Maynooth. It is a nice a place but now its just full of college students who are taking over (I know i'm a college student but these people are from the country you know)😂.           I still live at home with my mum and recently my boyfriend Dan has moved in with us as well. I have a sister Meaghan who is getting married next year to her fiancee Lesley. In the last couple of years we have also gotten in contact with my half sister, so our family just keeps on growing which is great.  We are a very close family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am very lucky to have such amazing people to be there for me when ever I need

Game Design Document

Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog, today I will be talking about my game design document. I use Dunroc to build a basic document which you can view  here . For my Game Design Document I am going to focus on the important parts of the game. First one is Story. The story behind the game is the most important part as you can't have a game without a story line. My story is about the player, they can create their own character and build their city to what ever way they want too. They have to do certain tasks everyday to earn money to buy things. My game will be a single player game. The aim of the game is to gain experience, unlock different levels and build an empire.  Second one is Characters . The player can have multiple characters if they would like, its all up to them. They can design what the character is going to look like too from their clothing to body type to hair style. Everything! I want the player to have fun creating there own world. Each character will ha

Beta.... Well not really!

Hey Guys, Welcome back to my blog, It's been a long week, thank god we only have one more week left!  So all week I have been working on my game, unfortunately I got the code working but I have way to many errors popping up which means it wont make my character move! My coins are working, my wind-zone is working and so is my sky-box but the most important bloody part wont! I have created so many different character and entered the code which is needed for each of them and none of them will work!  I also think one of my problems is that my world is too large with to many different effects going on through out it. I know what your going to say... "delete some of it" but that is not an option as I lost my first game and had to start it all over again so honestly I am petrified to touch it and delete things I don't really need.  (screenshot from my own unity)  (screenshot of my own unity) (screenshot of my own unity) As you can see from
