Unity Tutorial 1

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to my blog, this evening I will be talking about Unity Tutorial's. Honestly I was clueless watching these tutorials as gaming really isn't my thing but from watching Jimmy Vagas i finally (kind of) understood what the hell was going onπŸ˜…

When I downloaded unity and started to listen and do step by step with Jimmy I started to feel like I was getting somewhere. Don't get me wrong i'm still absolutely shocking at it but I will get there (eventually) .
first attempt of trying Unity(shocking I know)πŸ˜‚

To navigate the game was the easy part but I really did struggle with the rest. When Jimmy talked about using the F key on the keyboard to focus on the object better it was a great help as for someone on a laptop with no external mouse it can be difficult without that handy tip. The more I played around with each of the features Jimmy was telling us about the better I began to a little bit better. I am excited to learn more and to get my game up and running.

Overall my first attempt wasn't the best but the only was to get better is to keep trying. Nobody's is going to be great the first time but we can only work on it.

Reading 5 - Conducting & writing my analysis!

Hey guys, For the readings this week I am starting to write my analysis. After looking through my matrix and the significance of each of them I will be writing about the similarities of each of the articles that I think will be important to use.   I have be looking at my sub topics in more depth and looking for more relevant information that can be used to write my chapters. This weeks reading has taken a bit longer then it should as I think its important that I fully understand what I am looking at and what I am using to conduct my analysis.  What I have learnt from narrowing things done is that a lot of articles I have read and saved onto my computer are all repeating the information which I need, this means to me anyway that them documents are essential for my analysis.  (Update) After speaking to Shaun this morning, I am starting to feel more confident in my topic, I am aware that I need to work more on my matrix for my second topic which I am ...

Introduction to me being me!

I never know how to write about myself. I always feel so embarrassed and I don't know whyπŸ˜… Like last year when Margret asked us to do a video about ourselves, I wanted to cry as I never know what to say about myself without sounding big headed! So here comes the cringe fest.... My name is Elizabeth, I am 23 years old and I was born and bred in Maynooth. It is a nice a place but now its just full of college students who are taking over (I know i'm a college student but these people are from the country you know)πŸ˜‚.           I still live at home with my mum and recently my boyfriend Dan has moved in with us as well. I have a sister Meaghan who is getting married next year to her fiancee Lesley. In the last couple of years we have also gotten in contact with my half sister, so our family just keeps on growing which is great.  We are a very close family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am very lucky to have such amazing people to be there for me ...

Unity 6

Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog, for today I will be talking about a new set of unity tutorials which are extremely long!! I really did enjoy these tutorials as it was a new set of them so more to learn, I know I keep saying this but this semesters unity is so much better then last semester I really really like them! Anyway lets talk about unity! I found these sets of tutorials very easy which is a good thing as it means I am getting the hang of things!  We started by adding a background and picking our character, we then began to add some code for the player to control the character.  (screenshot of my code) (Screenshot of character jumping)  We then added an obstacle for the character to jump over. I found by following the tutorials the code is getting easier. Overall I am really happy with my progress on unity! Anyway until next week -Elizabeth
