Reading 4

Hey guys,

On this weeks blog I will be talking about conducting and writing my analysis. First of all I looked up the steps to take when writing a lit review. Here I narrowed down exactly what I need to do before I begin to write. https://libguides.uwf.edu/c.php?g=215199&p=1420520 this is the article I read.

When looking through my research I am still finding it difficult to narrow down the really important parts as I feel like they are all important especially for writing a lit review. I have also begun in a word document copying and pasting information from articles that I have read. I have been also looking at the chapters of books very careful to make sure I don't waste my time looking through each heading of the books I have found such as ...
As game level design is one of my topics I will be looking closely into this book which you can find through this link https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/product/An-Architectural-Approach-to-Level-Design-by-Christopher-W-Totten-author/9781315270753

Overall I feel like I am learning quite a lot from doing this research. I am still finding it difficult to find articles and books to do with my topic as I found looking for a long time is quite tedious.

I know my matrix should be finished by this week but I am still short of 3 or 4 sources so it is still a working progress. By next week I will have my matrix done to which I will be using to find all my information.

Chat next week guys!

My First Game Brainstorm.

https://www.123rf.com/photo_83383233_close-up-of-notepad-with-creative-brainstorm-sketch-and-colorful-pencils-brainstorming-concept.html Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog, in today's blog post I will be telling you guys about my ideas for my video game. When I think about making a game I think it needs to be a game that everyone will enjoy. After having a look around the internet I know have a good idea of what my four possible games could be. Game 1:  For my first game I would like it to be similar to The Sims 4. The Sim was first released back in 2000. It has many different versions of the game which has made this game the "best selling video game series of all time". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims  . I have always like the idea of being able to build your own imaginary life on a video game, from personalizing your characters, to building your own houses/business, to earning money, to having relationships/friendships within this video world. I would ...

Introduction to me being me!

I never know how to write about myself. I always feel so embarrassed and I don't know why😅 Like last year when Margret asked us to do a video about ourselves, I wanted to cry as I never know what to say about myself without sounding big headed! So here comes the cringe fest.... My name is Elizabeth, I am 23 years old and I was born and bred in Maynooth. It is a nice a place but now its just full of college students who are taking over (I know i'm a college student but these people are from the country you know)😂.           I still live at home with my mum and recently my boyfriend Dan has moved in with us as well. I have a sister Meaghan who is getting married next year to her fiancee Lesley. In the last couple of years we have also gotten in contact with my half sister, so our family just keeps on growing which is great.  We are a very close family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am very lucky to have such amazing people to be there for me ...

Unity 6

Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog, for today I will be talking about a new set of unity tutorials which are extremely long!! I really did enjoy these tutorials as it was a new set of them so more to learn, I know I keep saying this but this semesters unity is so much better then last semester I really really like them! Anyway lets talk about unity! I found these sets of tutorials very easy which is a good thing as it means I am getting the hang of things!  We started by adding a background and picking our character, we then began to add some code for the player to control the character.  (screenshot of my code) (Screenshot of character jumping)  We then added an obstacle for the character to jump over. I found by following the tutorials the code is getting easier. Overall I am really happy with my progress on unity! Anyway until next week -Elizabeth
